Terms of use · updated 23 October 2026
The plain-language terms.
This page is a summary, not a legal contract drafted for a particular jurisdiction. It explains what you can expect from the tool and what the tool expects from you.
The service
mp4tomp3.net is a free browser-based converter. It runs on your device, requires no account and does not upload the file. There is no service-level promise that every codec, container or browser will work; the supported inputs and known failures are documented on the how-it-works page.
Your files and your rights
You keep all rights to the files you convert. You are responsible for having the right to convert them. Do not use the tool to infringe copyright, bypass a paywall, or remove DRM or another technical protection measure. The tool does not fetch files from URLs or streaming services.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the site to process illegal content or content you do not have permission to use.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the site, its analytics or another visitor's use of it.
- Do not present the site as your own product or remove its attribution.
- Do not rely on the tool as the only copy of an important recording.
No warranty
The tool is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Conversion can be lossy, a browser can run out of memory, and a codec can be unsupported. Keep the original file and check the output before deleting anything.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the site and its maintainers are not liable for lost data, lost time, damaged files or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the tool. Because the file never leaves your device, the site cannot recover a file for you.
Analytics and privacy
The site uses an aggregate page-view counter and records anonymous conversion events (direction, success or failure, error code). It does not record the file, its name or its contents. Full detail is on the privacy page.
Changes
These terms may change when the tool changes. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
What this page is not
This is a plain-language summary for a small, free browser tool, not legal advice and not a substitute for a lawyer's review. If you need a contract for commercial use, get one drafted for your jurisdiction.
